| Description | Stammwappen (etwas spätere Variante) des bedeutenden Geschlechts der Reichsministerialen von Hagen-Münzenberg, das vorwiegend in der Wetterau und südlich von Frankfurt begütert war. Es wurde von den reichsgräf- und fürstlichen Hausern Falkenstein, Eppstein, Hanau, Solms und Hessen beerbt, die das Wappen in ihr jeweiliges Wappen aufnahmen. Eine Wappenverwandtschaft besteht zu den alten Grafen von Schwerin, deren Dynastie ihre Stammreihe mit Gunzelin von Hagen begann. |
