English: M3 and A31 The square is divided by two roads running north-south through it. To the left (east) is the A31, part of the original route past Winchester towards Southampton. To the right is the M3 now carrying most of the traffic. The road bends to the right through the square then climbs to the left in the following square to the horizon at Twyford Down. The photo is taken from a footbridge that carries the South Downs Way across both roads. |
