Português: Tithonia diversifolia, conhecida popularmente como Margaridão, Girassol Mexicano, etc. É uma planta originária do México.

No Brasil, pode ser encontrada ao longo de rodovias e em terrenos baldios. É considerada invasora e pode chegar até mais de 2 m de altura. O Margaridão possui ação hepática como desintoxicante. Ajuda nos tratamentos das dependências de fumo, álcool e drogas. O Margaridão é um poderoso adubo natural. Além disso, pode ser utilizado na cobertura do solo, em compostos orgânicos e controle de pragas. Sustentável, o Margaridão é de grande importância para a agricultura familiar, uma vez que garante autonomia a quem o usa.

Características do Margaridão: Possui pétalas amarelas com dobras finas que vai do começo até a ponta. Seu miolo lembra uma colmeia.

Quando aberto dá a impressão de que são flores diferentes que estão nascendo.
