Dit handschrift bevat een evangelistarium, met passages uit de vier evangeliën die tijdens de mis worden gelezen. Het is waarschijnlijk in 1081 aan het kapittel van Sint-Marie geschonken bij de wijding van de Mariakerk. Deze is in opdracht van keizer Hendrik IV gebouwd door bisschop Koenraad. Vanaf de vijftiende eeuw zijn enkele bladen toegevoegd met eedformules en krijgt het evangelistarium een tweede functie. De formules bevatten de officiële beloften die bij het aannemen van een kerkelijk ambt met de hand op het boek plechtig worden afgelegd.
