Summary edit

Description

The rear view of Thomas Jefferson's home is more beautiful than the front view. The view is also seen in " the reflective pool". At the center top of the home is the raised portion of Jefferson's observatory/study/library, where he spent a a great deal of solitary time, sometimes for days at a time. He even had a sleeping area there.

It's interesting that the University of Virginia, designed by Jefferson and always close to his heart, is visible through a hole in the tree line. As the trees grow, the estate caretakers cut back the limbs just enough to maintain the view.
