Description
English: In 1669, Maharaja Raghav erected a huge Ganesha idol with a temple on the banks of the Ganges at Nabadwip. After his death, the idol was moved to another place due to the erosion of the Ganges and the idol was kept underground for 12 years. Later, while lifting the idol from the ground, when the trunk of Ganesha broke, by the order of Maharaja Girish Chandra, an unknown artist made an idol of the adored goddess Anandamayi from the idol of Ganesha and The goddess is named Bhabatarini Mata.
বাংলা: নদীয়ারাজ মহারাজা রাঘব ১৬৬৯ খ্রিস্টাব্দে নবদ্বীপের গঙ্গার ধারে মন্দিরসহ প্রকাণ্ড এক গণেশ মূর্তি প্রতিষ্ঠা করেন। তার মৃত্যুর পর গঙ্গার ভাঙনের কারণে বিগ্রহ অন্য জায়গায় সরিয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয় এবং পণ্ডিতবর্গের বিধানে বিগ্রহটিকে ১২ বছর মাটির নিচে রাখা হয়। পরবর্তীতে বিগ্রহটিকে মাটি থেকে তোলার সময় গণেশের শুঁড়টি ভেঙে গেলে মহারাজ গিরিশচন্দ্রের আদেশে কোনো এক অজ্ঞাত শিল্পী গণেশ মূর্তি থেকে মহারাজের আরাধ্যা দেবী আনন্দময়ীর প্রতিমা তৈরি করেন এবং দেবীমূর্তির নামকরণ হয় ভবতারিণী মাতা।
