Summary edit

Description
English: Maastricht, the Netherlands. Detail of the reliquary bust of Saint Servatius in the Treasury of Sint-Servaasbasiliek. The original pedestal is lost but the 8 reliefs that were once part of the pedestal are now in the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg, Germany. The current Maastricht pedestal was made by the Aachen silversmith August Witte in 1908. The 8 reliefs with scenes from the life of Saint Servatius are exact copies of the ones in the museum in Hamburg. Here: Saint Servatius moves the relics of his predecessors from Tongeren to Maastricht.
