English: Maes-y-Betws and Doethie Crossing, Ceredigion On the map accompanying this photograph, Maes-y-Betws appears huge, yet this former "one night house" was a more modest structure with now only the base of the walls remaining. A local historian states that it was abandoned in the 1920s. A fairly new wooden footbridge now allows riders to cross the Doethie Fawr on the public bridleway into the (privately owned) forest, where the route towards Pen Rhiwclochdy is not always clear. |
