English: Part of the pulpit in the chapel of SS James and John, Magdalen College School, Brackley, Northamptonshire. Three carved panels each include a coat of arms. On the left are the arms of of William Waynflete, Bishop of Winchester, used by the school and by its parent Magdalen College Oxford, which he founded. Right: Or, two bars gules overall on a bend sable three mullets of the field (Wake, variant ?) impaling: Or, three ..... azure on a chief gules ..... (for his wife) (possibly arms of the headmaster (or some other important local person) at the time of the Chapel's restoration, when the pulpit was made) |
