Description

Magnet Court, Newcastle University.

A composite image of the art deco style terracotta relief panels on the south facade. Originally built in the 1930s for the General Electric Company, they are meant to be symbolic of power generation. Occurring in a single row on the building, they are arranged here in 3 rows, west to east - western 5 (top), middle 3 (middle), eastern 5 (bottom), showing that the two outer groups of 5 were mirrored.
