DescriptionMain and University, Charlottesville, during flash flood.jpg |
English: Intersection of Main Street/University Avenue with Fourteenth Street in Charlottesville, Virginia, United States, just off the campus of the University of Virginia. Since beginning fifteen minutes ago, a sudden rainstorm (strong enough to produce hail) has caused flash flooding, despite the presence of a three-foot-wide storm drain at the lowest point of the underpass. Newspaper boxes, swept away by the fast-moving waters, are floating around, while a Jeep fords the water at far right and other vehicles turn around to find another route. |
