DescriptionMain elements of the ISOLDE facility.png |
English: The main elements of the ISOLDE facility are shown.
The high intensity (3x10^13/pulse) and high energy (1.4 GeV) proton beam from the PS Booster of CERN is directed to one of the two target-ion source units for the production of radioactive species. The out coming 1+ ions are mass separated in A/Q either in the HRS or in GPS magnets and injected into the main beam line. The 60 KV beam is directed to the different low energy experiments or post-accelerated in REX-ISOLDE. |
