English: Main opening span of Boothferry bridge, Boothferry, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The bridge was built in the late 1920's. Control room on top is a 1970s (?) addition. Bridge still swings several times a day for river traffic - particularly Fuel Oil deliveries to Drax power station and grain barges to Westmill Foods at Selby. The bridge can swing either way - either up or down river. |
