Description A newly deployed U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District buoy warns boaters of a wing dam in the Sacramento River March 21, 2012 near Sacramento, Calif. Wing dams are underwater structures which slow river bank erosion while helping the river naturally dredge itself. The district maintains 54 wing dam buoys on the Sacramento River between its confluences with the Feather River to the north and the American River to the south.(U.S. Army photo by Todd Plain/Released)
