« Près de l’intersection de la rue Notre-Dame, à l’intérieur de la clôture du stationnement de l'ancien couvent, se trouve la plaque qui situe la maison où Louis-Hippolyte La Fontaine a passé une partie de son enfance. Le bâtiment, datant de 1766, est déménagé dans le Parc historique La Broquerie en 1964. » - boucherville.ca
Texte de la plaque :
« À cet endroit s'élevait la demeure où sir Louis-Hippolyte Lafontaine a grandi.
Construite en 1788, partiellement incendiée en 1843, transportée dans le parc de la Broquerie en 1964, classée monument historique en 1965, restaurée en 1978, sa maison fut ouverte au public en 1980.
Cet avocat, député, procureur général, premier ministre (1848-1851) sous l'Union, juge en chef fut nommé baronnet du Royaume-Uni par la reine et chevalier de Saint-Sylvestre par le pape.
Ce grand Bouchervillois, ardent défenseur de la langue française a vécu de 1807 à 1864.
