Description
Deutsch: Haus des Optikers Pierre-Louis Guinand (1748–1824) in Les Brenets (Kanton Neuenburg). Guinand erfand das Rührverfahren zur Homogenisierung von Flintglas für achromatische Objektive. Er richtete im Auftrag Joseph Utzschneiders ab 1805 die Glashütte in Benediktbeuern ein und unterrichtete dort ab 1809 Joseph Fraunhofer in der Herstellung von optischem Glas. 1814 kehrte er nach Les Brenets zurück. Seine Angehörigen und Nachfolger beherrschten lange Zeit den Weltmarkt für optisches Glas.
