Summary
editDescriptionMalago source.jpg | The Malago River (stream) has its origins on the slopes of Dundry Hill from where it flows northwards and joins with other streams entering the water system which empties into the New Cut in Bristol city centre. In its latter stages, the Malago and its sister stream, the Pigeon House Brook, is culverted and flows beneath Bedminster to reach the New Cut near the Bathurst Basin. Before the Cut was completed in 1809, the Malago entered a (mill) pool near what became the site of the Basin, and thence to the Avon. People walking the northern bank of the Cut, or in a boat, can see the large concrete culverts in the southern bank from which the waters of the Malago overflow after periods of rain. |
