Summary edit

Description The mamaku is New Zealand's largest tree fern. The koru is based on the shape of the unfurling fern frond. It is an integral symbol in Māori art, carving and tattooing, where it symbolises new life, growth, strength and peace. Photographed on the side of Scotts Road, on the way to Arapuke Park, Manawatu, New Zealand.
