English: Manchester Victoria station facade 1982 For a short period in 1982, the superb 1904 facade of Manchester Victoria station could be seen almost in its entirety for the first time ever and quite possibly the last. Hemmed in by Victorian buildings since construction, cleaning of the station's facade in 1979 and subsequent clearance of the area made this shot possible. The Urbis building now stands on the spot from where the photograph was taken, while the outline of the station is marred by the MEN Arena's brutal design. |
