Português: Mandado de segurança impetrado por José Guimarães Menegale em favor de João Cabral de Melo Neto, então cônsul do Ministério das Relações Exteriores, contra decreto do presidente da República à época, Getúlio Vargas, que determinou fosse o paciente posto em disponibilidade inativa e não remunerada por ter praticado atividades subversivas ligadas ao extinto Partido Comunista do Brasil.
English: Mandado de Segurança (similar to a US "writ of mandamus") filed by José Guimarães Menegale in favor of João Cabral de Melo Neto, then consul of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, against a decree of the President of the Republic, Getúlio Vargas, which determined that João Cabral be put on inactive and unpaid availability by having practiced subversive activities linked to the extinct Communist Party of Brazil.
