English: This image from the Suomi NPP satellite's VIIRS Day-Night Band shows Hurricane Manuel before landfall in Mexico on September 19, 2013. The storm was moving due north when this image was taken around 0805Z, heading for landfall near Topolobampo in Sinaloa State, Mexico. Manuel has brought copious amounts of rain to the Pacific Ocean coastline of Mexico since earlier in the week, leaving the tourist town of Acapulco isolated by flooding and landslides. |
