Summary edit

Description
English: This map is designed to clearly show geographically the Soviet troops that entered Afghanistan from the north, and the refugees (orange arrows) that flew from within to other countries. The wider arrows approximately showcase higher numbers of refugees to the specific destination. Source: Amstutz, J. Bruce (1994) , Diane Publishing ISBN: 978-0-7881-1111-2. OCLC: 948347893. As at 1984, 3.2 million Afghanese refugees were in Pakistan, 1.8 million in Iran, 40,000 in India, and a total of 30,000 elsewhere in the world (represented on the map by a globe).
