Description
Русский: Кинешемский уезд.

Волости уезда (XVII—XVIII вв.):

  1. Волость Вичужская. Южная часть уезда по р. Вичуге и ее притокам (откуда и название). Первое известие в духовной Ивана III, в числе волостей доставшихся вел. кн. Василию.
  2. Волость Владыченская. Северо-восточная часть уезда, на левом берегу Волги. Происхождение названия неясно.
  3. Волость Кинешемская. Окрестности гор. Кинешмы на правом берегу Волги. Название от города и реки. Первое известие - в духовной Ивана III, в числе волостей, доставшихся вел. кн. Василию.
  4. Волость Мериновская. Западная окраина уезда на левом берегу Волги. Название от с. Меринова.
