Summary

Description
English: In the German Empire (π˜’π˜’π˜ͺ𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘦π˜ͺ𝘀𝘩) and Weimar Republic, each German state supported a specific denomination through tax money. "Free Churches" could exist, but had to be self-supporting. The state churches were Evangelical (Lutheran), Reformed (Calvinist), Catholic, and United - with United being either administered by both Lutheran and Reformed leadership, or completely merged together by Imperial decree (in the states that had directly belonged to Prussia in the π˜’π˜’π˜ͺ𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘦π˜ͺ𝘀𝘩).
