English: The World as known to the Ancients. A double-hemisphere map showing the contemporary outline of the world but with references from ancient history and myth. Neither Australia nor New New Zealand are named, Sri Lanka is marked Taprobana and America 'Atlante' or Atlantis. Published in the rare 'Nuovo Atlante Geografico Universale', it is decorated with allegorical figures of the four continents in the corners.
