| Description |
English: Mappleton sands, Mappleton, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. This shows the beach north of Mappleton, en route to Mappleton from Hornsea. It is common to find such huge lumps of boulder clay from the cliffs scattered along the beach, especially after stormy or prolonged wet weather, as the cliffs are constantly being eroded and suffer slippage. The lumps of boulder clay are excellent sources of erratics for those of us with geological tendencies! |
