Cai Be est située au bord du Mékong oriental. C'est une agglomération qui vit principalement de l'agriculture.

Un marché flottant existe à Cai Be comme dans d'autres villes du delta, car le transport fluvial reste une activité plus fiable (en période de mousson) et moins onéreuse que la route.

Des yeux sont peints à l'avant de tous les bateaux dans le but de repousser les mauvais esprits.
