Description
Español: La Base Marambio, principal presencia científica y militar argentina en la Antártida, fue sede del acto central por los 50 años de su creación, encabezado por el jefe de Gabinete de la Nación, Marcos Peña, autoridades militares y funcionarios del Gobierno.

La Base, ubicada a 3304 kilómetros de Buenos Aires, fue creada el 29 de octubre de 1969 y es una de las 13 que posee la Argentina en el territorio antártico donde mantuvo única presencia fija por alrededor de 40 años.

De la ceremonia conmemorativa, que tuvo lugar en la Isla Marambio, situada sobre el mar de Weddell, participaron, entre otros funcionarios, el secretario general de la Presidencia, Fernando de Andreis; y los ministros de Defensa, Oscar Aguad, y de Transporte, Guillermo Dietrich.

También se llevó a cabo el acto de relevo anual de la dotación, conformada por oficiales, suboficiales y civiles de la Fuerza Aérea, y en ese marco fue puesto en funciones como jefe de la nueva dotación N° 51 (campaña 2019/2020), el vicecomodoro Roberto Saravia.

Además, estuvieron presentes los jefes de la Armada, almirante José Luis Villán; de la Fuerza Aérea, brigadier Enrique Amrein; y del Estado Mayor Conjunto, teniente general Bari del Valle Sosa.
