English: This GOES-13 full disk image taken on September 7, 2011 at 1445 shows the newly named Tropical Storm Maria. With sustained winds of 50 mph, Maria is located far out into the Atlantic, around 1300 miles east of the Lesser Antilles. The National Hurricane Center's predictions put Maria on track to affect the U.S. Virgin Islands on Saturday, still as a tropical storm. |
