Français : Transcription de l'acte de mariage de S. A. I. le prince Napoléon. Ce fut le dimanche 27 février que cette solennité officielle eut lieu au palais des Tuileries, dans le salon de Louis XIV, en présence de tous les membres de la famille impériale et des premiers personnages de Toutes les personnes convoquées a cette cérémome étaient déjà réunies dans cette pièce magnifique, lorsque Leurs Majestés Impériales y entrèrent, à neuf heures accompagnées des princes et des princesses et suivies de leur cortège. C'est au riche plafond dont l'a décoré, en 1668, Nicolas Loir, que ce salon doit son nom. Ce plafond, d'une remarquable élégance et d'un grand effet, représente le soleil à son lever, embrasant le ciel et la terre de ses rayons. On sait que c'était cet astre que Louis XIV avait pris pour emblème, avec la devise : Nec pluribus impar. L'empereur et l'impératrice prirent place dans deux fauteuils qui leur avaient été préparés devant une table où étaient déposés les registres de l'état civil de la famille impériale; ces registres sont ceux-là mêmes qui avaient été dressés par les ordres de Napoléon Ier.

Ils avaient disparu dans la tempête de 1815, où le premier empire s'était lui-même évanoui. Longtemps on les avait cru perdus ou détruits. Ils avaient été recueillis par les mains fidèles de l'une des illustrations du premier empire, dont le fils, officier général dans l'armée, a restitué aux archives de la famille impériale ces monuments précieux. LL. AA. II. le prince Jérôme Napoléon et le prince Napoléon, LL. AA. les princes Louis-Lucien Bonaparte, Lucien Murat, Joachim Murat et S. G. le duc d'Hamilton occupèrent les sièges qui leur avaient été préparés à droite de l'empereur ; ceux placés à gauche de l'impératrice le furent par LL. AA. II. la princesse Clotilde et la princesse Mathilde, S. A. grand-ducale Mme Ja princesse Marie, duchesse d'Hamilton, LL. AA. les princesses Lucien Murat, Joachim Murat et Anna Murat. M. le ministre d'État, assisté de M. le président du conseil d'État, reçut alors de M le ministre des affaires étrangères la minute de l'acte de mariage de LL. AA. II. le prince et la princesse Napoléon et des pièces à l'appui. Il le fit aussitôt transcrire sur les registres de l'état civil de la famille impériale, et donna immédiatement après lecture à haute voix du procès-verbal constatant l'accomplissement de ces formalités. Leurs Majestés et les princes et princesses de la famille impériale apposèrent ensuite leurs signatures à cet acte, que toutes les personnes invitées furent également admises à l'honneur de signer. Dans cette brillante assistance figuraient M. le marquis Pès de la Villa-Marina, envoyé extraordinaire et ministre plénipotentiaire de S. M. le roi de Sardaigne, les présidents du sénat et du corps législatif, M. le comte de Persigny, membre du conseil privé, le maréchal comte Randon, l'amiral Parseval-Deschênes; les grands officiers de la couronne, le commandant en chef de la garde impériale, l'adjudant général du palais, le gouverneur des Invalides, le commandant supérieur de la garde nationale de la Seine, le général Niel, aide de camp de l'empereur, et M. le colonel de Franconière, premier aide de camp de Son Altesse Impériale, témoins de Mgr le prince Napoléon. C'est l'instant où Leurs Majestés Impériales et toute leur cour se levèrent pour procéder à cette signature que l'artiste a choisi pour représenter cette cérémonie, qui est à la fois une scène de famille et une scène d'histoire.

Fu domenica 27 febbraio che questa solennità ufficiale ebbe luogo al Palazzo delle Tuileries, nel salone di Luigi in questa magnifica sala, quando le Loro Maestà Imperiali vi entrarono, alle nove, accompagnate dai principi e dalle principesse e seguite dal loro corteo. È al ricco soffitto con cui Nicolas Loir la decorò nel 1668 che questa sala deve il suo nome. Questo soffitto, di notevole eleganza e di grande effetto, rappresenta il sole all'alba, infiammando con i suoi raggi il cielo e la terra. Sappiamo che fu questa stella che Luigi XIV prese come emblema, con il motto: Nec pluribus impar. Lo fece subito trascrivere nei registri di stato civile della famiglia imperiale, e subito dopo lesse ad alta voce il verbale constatando l'espletamento di tali formalità. Le Loro Maestà, i principi e le principesse della famiglia imperiale hanno quindi apposto le loro firme a questo atto, che anche tutti gli invitati hanno avuto l'onore di firmare. English: Transcription of the marriage certificate of H.H.I. Prince Napoleon. It was on Sunday February 27 that this official solemnity took place at the Tuileries Palace, in the salon of Louis this magnificent room, when Their Imperial Majesties entered it, at nine o'clock accompanied by the princes and princesses and followed by their procession. It is to the rich ceiling with which Nicolas Loir decorated it in 1668 that this room owes its name. G. the Duke of Hamilton occupied the seats which had been prepared for them to the right of the Emperor; those placed to the left of the empress were placed by LL. AA. II.
