Français : Portrait de Marie STRAATMAN (1830-1889) épouse de Jean-Charles BATTAILLE, ingénieur, chevalier de l’ordre de Léopold, de l’ordre de Saint-Stanislas, de l’Ordre de Sainte-Anne de Russie, de l’ordre de Saint-Alexandre de Bulgarie, (habita Grande-Rue-des-Écuries, 1, à Saint-Pétersbourg, Russie), directeur (1868) des travaux du chemin de fer de Tzaribrod-Sofia-Vakarel, né à Saint-Josse-ten-Noode le 14 février 1830 décédé au large d’Alexandrie (Egypte) le 16 avril 1889. Il épousa le 1 février 1853 Marie STRAATMAN, née en septembre 1830 à Malines, fille de l'armateur Lambert Straatman et de Sophie Fautier. L'ingénieur Jean-Charles BATTAILLE-STRAATMAN publia une Carte d'un projet de chemin de fer destiné à relier aux hauts fourneaux et usines de l'amont de Liége ainsi qu'au bassin houiller de cette ville, les exploitations de minerais de fer de Comblain, Xhoris, Ville et environs: qu'il joignit à sa demande en concession par "Bataille-Straatman et Cie" le 11 décembre 1854.
