English: Debbie Barron comforts her husband, Cpl. Josue Barron of Cudahy, Calif., after competing the 10-kilometer handcycling race at the 2012 Warrior Games in Colorado Springs, Colo., May 1. Barron finished with a fourth place finish. The 2007 Bell High School graduate was wounded in an improvised explosive device blast while deployed to Afghanistan in 2010. Barron reached out to help a friend get out of a trench when the blast occurred. His left leg was amputated and he lost his left eye. He remains dedicated to his unit at the time of his injury, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines. His prosthetic eye is outfitted with his unit’s logo. |
