Description
English: Maritime Prowess by Albert Hemstock Hodge. This statue stands on the western end pavilion of Hull Guildhall. It dates from about 1903 and depicts a female figure standing at the prow of a boat drawn by seahorses. Some websites erroneously describe it as Boadicea. It is the work of Albert Hemstock Hodge the Scottish sculptor who was born on Islay. For the figure of "Strength" on the eastern pavilion see 244983.
