Branch(es): U.S. Army and U.S. Navy Rank: Sgt. Current Position: R3 Private Lands Biologist, Necedah NWR Mark Pfost served in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. Pfost was a Sgt. in the Army and spent most of his time with the 1 Squadron 10 Armored Cavalry. Pfost was crew chief of a TOW missile carrier. His experience in the Navy was more varied. Pfost says his most memorable duty stations were four years in the Aleutians (an island in the middle of the Alaska Maritime NWR), the USS Reeves CG 24 (home-ported at Pearl Harbor), and the USS Curt’s FFG 38 (home-ported Yokosuka Japan). Pfost made deployments to the Persian Gulf area on both the Reeves and Curt’s and was an electronics technician Petty Officer 1st Class, and earned the Surface Warfare Specialist designation. |
