Description |
English: The red Marsyas a Roman copy of a Greek original from the III-II century B.C. remade by an artist of the Renaissance, probably the sculptor Mino da Fiesole. Scuplted from marble pavonazzetto, a kind of reddish marble, Marsyas has his head lifted, the chest muscles are tensed, in a gesture of rebellion and surprising facial expression that is a mixture of defiance, anger and pain. |
