English: Martha Gunn's Grave, St Nicholas's Churchyard Born in 1726 and died in 1815 she was a dipper by profession who assisted bathers on the beach at Brighton and in the process became something of a celebrity in late 18th century Britain becoming a favourite of the Prince Regent himself. The Gunn family still has many descendants in Brighton today, some of them running the local florists called Gunns. |
