Description
English: Created in 1939 by Plymouth Meeting artist Martha Hovenden, daughter of noted artists Thomas Hovenden and Helen Corson Hovenden. Printed from a copper plate. Martha worked in what had been her parents' studio--the former Abolition Hall. The quote that surrounds the image is drawn from the poem titled "The Souls of Books," by Edward Bulwer-Lytton.
