| Description | A group of Masai Giraffe in the bush. Again, a non-zoomed shot, taken purposely to show the expanse of the Masai Mara Game reserve. There are two types of giraffe in the Masai Mara: the Masai Giraffe and the Reticulated Giraffe. Further away, in the Lake Nakuru region is a third type of giraffe, the Rotschild's Giraffe. The Masai and Reticulated giraffe are almost identical but for the pattern of the markings (random vs reticulated). The Rotschild's giraffe is the same as the Reticulated giraffe but with plain beige fur (without the brown patches) below the knee. Picture elsewhere in this set. (Oct/ Nov. 2010) |
