Português: Material exumado do Shimal tomb. Bronze, ferro forjado e batido, cerâmicas e vasos de pedra, 2000 a.C. (c.) O Museu Nacional de Ras al Khaimah foi fundado em 1987, ocupando uma antiga fortaleza e palácio, reconstruída a partir de 1820, após a destruição efetuada pelos ingleses em 1809. Tendo servido de residência aos governadores da família Quwasim ou Qasimi até 1964, quando o último governador, H.H. Sheikh Saqr Bin Mohammed al-Qasimi (1918-2010), passou a residir em Mamoura. Passou, entretanto, a quartel-general da polícia e a prisão, antes de se converter em Museu Nacional em 1987. As suas exposições permanentes refletem a história da região e do atual emirado, com especial destaque para os trabalhos de arqueologia efetuados nos últimos anos. |
