English: This photo is not of the Chambers house, but of the Presbyterian Session House, Salisbury, NC, a block away from the Chamber's home.Built on land donated by Maxwell Chambers. The meeting house was built in 1855 for the Presbyterian Church over the grave site of the Maxwell Chambers' family as specified in his will. The 10 graves behind the stone walls can be seen through a locked gate in the foundation on the east side of the building. |
