English: A U.S. Navy McDonnell F-4B-10-MC Phantom II (BuNo 149443) from Fighter Squadron 114 (VF-114) "Aardvarks" lands aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CVA-63). VF-114 was assigned to Attack Carrier Air Wing 11 (CVW-11) aboard the Kitty Hawk for a deployment to the Western Pacific from 17 October 1963 to 20 July 1964. The F-4B 149443 was later lost on 16 Sepember 1968 while in service with VF-143 when it ditched into the Gulf of Tonkin after a bad launch off USS Constellation (CVA-64). Both crew survived. |
