English: A U.S. Navy McDonnell F-4B-21-MC Phantom II (BuNo 152241) from Fighter Squadron 114 (VF-114) "Aardvarks" lands aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CVA-63) in the Gulf of Tonkin, in April 1966. VF-114 was assigned to Attack Carrier Air Wing 11 (CVW-11) aboard the Kitty Hawk for a deployment to Vietnam from 19 October 1965 to 13 June 1966. The F-4B 152241 was later converted to a F-4N and crashed into the sea off USS Coral Sea (CV-43) on 19 December 1979 while in service with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 323 (VMFA-323). |
