Description
English: c/n 1813. Built 1965 for the United States Air Force with the full serial 65-0749.

Transferred to AMARC as FP426 in 12th January 1990. Moved to the Collins Foundation in 1998 and civil registered in 1999 as NX749CF and airworthy since August 1999. Initially flew as ‘67-463 / OY’ with the name “Triple Nickel”. She was grounded for maintenance in 2011 and didn’t fly again until 2017. She is now painted to represent 63-7680, an F-4C of the 555th Tactical Fighter Squadron, part of the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing during the Vietnam War. It was the aircraft flown by the unit’s commander, Colonel Robin Olds, during Operation Bolo in early January 1967 during which it would shoot down a MiG-21. 63-7680 would shoot down two further MiG-21s during 1967 before being shot down herself by Anti-Aircraft fire that November. NX749CF is reported to now be the only airworthy Phantom in North America and is seen on static display at the 2019 Wings over Houston Airshow. Ellington Airport, Houston, Texas.
