Description
English: The Sarcophagus of Marcus Claudianus (ca. 330-335, Palazzo Massimo, Rome): Detail, St. Peter's water miracle. The story is told in Pseudo-Linus, "Martyrium beati Petri apostoli." In prison in Rome, Peter converts his guards and baptizes them with water that gushes forth from the rock walls of the prison.
