Description
English: This "iron axe" (rautakirves in Finnish) medal was granted to the participants of voluntary wood cutting campaign in Finland during 1942 (Continuation War). One cubic metre of fire wood was worth of this medal. There was also another medals of this kind granted for continued participation to the campaign.
Suomi: "Rautakirves"-mitali myönnettiin osallistumisesta halonhakkuutalkoisiin ("mottitalkoisiin") Suomessa jatkosodan aikana vuonna 1942. Rautakirveen sai yhden kuutiometrin pinon tekemisestä. Samassa kampanjassa saattoi ansaita myös arvokkaampia merkkejä, kuten kultakirveen.
