Description
English: Copper alloy

Buckle Plate fragment (as identified by finder). Sub-rectangular sheet metal plate with slightly convergent straight sides, folded with a slot at one end. Two round punched holes appear at the mid-point (of diameter 3.5mm) and towards the other end (of diameter 2.4mm). The latter is accompanied by a hole occupied by a burred rivet. Suggested date: Medieval, 1250-1450. Length: 28.6mm, Width: 16.5mm, Thickness: 1.6mm, Weight: 4.00gms.
