Description
English: Megget Reservoir Viewed from the farm road to Winterhopeburn. An unusually low water level has revealed old drystane dykes and a sheepfold to the right, that are normally hidden below the water. The reservoir was opened on 30th September 1983 and under normal conditions has an area of water surface of 259Ha (640 acres) and a top water level of 334m O.D. It lies on the course of the Megget Water, 2 miles (3km) West of Cappercleuch and St Mary's Loch, and 2 miles (3km) East of Talla Reservoir. (Source: Lothian Regional Council brochure).
