Das Café ist nach der Künstler*in und Aktivist*in Melitta Sunström benannt. Dahinter befand sich im Innenhof 1988-2013 das Schwule Museum*. Durch das Café gelangte mensch ab 1994 in den SchwuZ, der 2013 in die Rollbergstraße 26 in Berlin-Neukölln umzog.

English:
The café is named after the artist and activist Melitta Sunström. In the inner yard behind the café was the location of the Berlin Gay Museum Schwules Museum* between 1988 and 2013. Access to the club SchwuZ was through the café beginning in 1994 until 2013 when SchwuZ moved to Rollbergstraße 26 in Berlin-Neukölln.
