Inschrift einer Informationstafel an der Quelle: Sechstagerennen - Auf die Hasequelte ist kein Verlass: Mal sickert mehr, mal weniger Wasser aus dem Untergrund dieses Naturdenkmals hervor. Im Sommer schrumpft der Quelltopf zu einer morastigen Pfütze. Und das Rinnsal, das da aus der Quelle tröpfelt? Das soll mal die Hase werden - der größte rechtsseitige Nebenfluss der Ems?

Abwarten! Hilfe ist ganz in der Nähe: Schon nach 1 km wird die Hase zusätzlich von der Alma-Quelle gespeist. Zusammen mit dem Wasser des blauen Sees, der Großen und der Kleinen Reh-Quelle kommt die Hase langsam in F1uss ... langsam ... mit vielen weiteren Zuflüssen ... und in etlichen Windungen und Schleifen ... Dann endlich am Ziel: Nach 167 km mündet sie bei Meppen in die Ems - nach einer 6-tägigen Reise. Hat jemand von Rennen gesprochen?
