Abraham Lincoln Birthplace Memorial Landscape, Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Site. The formal Memorial Landscape was designed in 1911. Eastern red cedars replaced the disease-prone Lombardy poplar allee, which were initially selected due to their classic shape and structure.
